Contact Information

To contact me...

Use my email:

my first name, rosana
then the at sign
then the name of this website: training-dogs.com

I put it this way because you can figure it out but the spam machines that search websites for email addresses aren't smart enough. Luckily.

Do notice that you need the dash between training and dogs.

I do not answer individual dog training questions. I do answer general ones in my newsletter, but not personally and not necessarily quickly. But I do have some suggestions for how you can get help further down the page.

You can sign up for my newsletter here... but if you are in a hurry for an answer, you may be disappointed as I am not always available.

Sometimes I travel and get way behind on my emails, but if you have not heard back from me within about a week, do feel free to write again. Some unknown number of emails don't ever reach their destinations, alas.

Where's the contact form?

It doesn't exist any more. I had technical problems with it and find it is really easier if you just use my email as described above.

So what to do if you need help?

Dog training questions can be a challenge, and we all need help sometimes. I suggest:

  • Use the search box at the bottom of this page or go to Google or Yahoo or any other search engine you like. Think of a phrase that best describes your question, type it in the box and then put quotation marks around it. That will get you more exact results. If the phrase you have used doesn't work, try another one.

  • Look for dog training forums using the above method and then ask your question there. Hint: look for ones that are active and have recent posts.

  • Use a trainer locally if you can find one on your same wave length... see the link a little lower on this page for the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.

Looking for Dr. Ian Dunbar's Sirius Puppy Training?

This website is not Sirius, but I do get quite a few emails from people who think it is, probably since I have so much information about their excellent DVDs and books. They only do classes in the greater San Francisco area and to find out about those, go to siriuspup.com. There is also a toll-free number listed there.

I do not have contact information for Ian Dunbar himself, but if you do a Google or Yahoo search for "Ian Dunbar" and wade through a bunch of listings, chances are you will find it.

For other regions of the US and the rest of the world, they refer people to the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, which was founded by Ian Dunbar. It's at http://www.apdt.com/ and then click on TRAINER SEARCH from the left menu bar, and that takes you to a useful page about how to choose a trainer. Then click on TRAINER DIRECTORY on the upper right side of that page to see if there are any APDT members in your area. If there are, still check with them about their approach to training. If there aren't, there may still be people in your area who are using similar principles but haven't joined the organization.

Rosana's Ramblings:

I wish I had time and emotional energy to help out with individual queries but I have found that it is often too heart-wrenching as well as time consuming. I wish you the best with your challenges, and I encourage you to keep reaching out for help. Just not to me in a crisis, sorry.
