Dog Training Videos

The old video formats have given way to DVDs everywhere. Formerly video programs are coming out in DVD format. This page used to have a list of programs available in video format but as I've been updating the site, I've found that most of the dog training videos I had reviewed are now in DVD only. A few programs have simply not been transported over to the new format.

A New Meaning for "Dog Training Videos"

With faster internet connections we are getting dog training videos on the internet in several forms. You either download them or just watch them:

1. They can be part of a package like Sit Stay Fetch.

2. They are being sold as online dog training lessons, such as the ones done by Dove Cresswell.

3. Free dog training videos are becoming available which are parts of a longer program (whether DVD or downloadable video).

For example if you go to Karen Pryor's Clicker Training website, look on the right side of the screen and there is a list with the heading More to Explore. Click on the link there that says Videos of amazing animals, and it takes you to a page of short, free training videos of dogs and other animals. I just watched one on a fearful mule overcoming its reluctance to go into a stall... very heart-warming! You can learn a lot about clicker training this way!

Dogwise now has segments of many of the DVDs they sell available for you to watch. I recently bought one DVD instead of the one I thought I was going to get, based on watching these clips.

4. With places like YouTube, people are sharing their own dog training experiences on video. You do have to wade through a lot to find the good ones. I write in my blog about Dog Videos -- check and see what's new!
