For Dog Training Information: My Big Three
Some dog training information resources that I use extensively on this
site are Dogwise, Karen Pryor's clicker training website, and Amazon.com
Dogwise could
be called the dog world's Amazon! It carries a huge dog-related inventory
of books, DVDs, supplies... on and on. It often has dog products that
Amazon.com doesn't.
Karen Pryor's
clicker training website is the #1 resource online for
clicker training information, and not just for dogs. For any animal!
Of course, Amazon.com does
carry a huge amount of dog training information. And it can be very
convenient to combine your dog training purchases with other things
you might need. Training-dogs.com operates in association with Amazon.com.
Amazon not only sells books, DVDs, etc, but through their partnerships
with many other websites, you can buy dog training gear, clothing, all
sorts of things directly through them.
This website operates in association with Amazon.com, dogwise.com, and
clickertraining.com.
For Finding a Dog Trainer
The Association of Pet Dog Trainers has a membership of thousands,
all over the world. You can search its database for trainers near you.
This organization, founded by Dr. Ian Dunbar, promotes the use of positive,
pain-free methods, but trainers are NOT required to follow this line
completely, so ask questions of any trainer you talk to.
Rosana's Ramblings: Reciprocal Linking
I've watched fashions in website promotion come and go in the
years I've been a webmaster (I started back in '98.). Recently
the search engines have de-valued reciprocal links between websites,
because a huge industry grew up around reciprocal links.
So I don't do reciprocal links as such...I just link to whatever
I feel like! If another webmaster happens to link to my site and
I happen to link to theirs because we like each other's sites,
well that is the original true intention of reciprocity.
And if after my rant, you would like to link to this site, I've
got a page up with suggestions
on how to link here. |
