Really Reliable Recall: A DVD That Could Save Your Dog's Life |

I've always thought of it as just one of those things about life and dogs. But it's less inevitable now. The Really Reliable Recall method offers you a way to train your dog to come to you immediately, the very first time you call him. It's actually an easy method to implement; you just have to follow the steps in the 90-minute video. Developed by long-time dog trainer Leslie Nelson, it's something you really can do! This DVD explains it all in detail. DVDs are great for learning all sorts of dog training methods, and this one fits that description. In 90 minutes there is time to cover everything you need to know. It includes two special sections:
Of course, you will have to work to get this level of reliability. The steps are easy to follow but will take some time on your part. But what more important behavior to train? How does it work? You really need to watch the DVD for all the details, but I can tell you one part: you use a different word than "Come." It's an emergency word, one you only use for this. You train it so that your dog immediately comes to you. The Really Reliable Recall DVD is available from Dogwise but I didn't see it at Amazon, in the US, Canada, or the UK. You can watch a short excerpt from this DVD at Dogwise. If you learn well from reading something, Leslie Nelson has written the Really Reliable Recall Booklet . I am someone who learns from reading, but in this case I'd see the booklet as more of an adjunct to the DVD. You might want to give out copies of the booklet, specially if you are a trainer or breeder.
